Day 20... Appraisals!!!

This, being our last Monday in Willage 13, we began by learning a new song called "Darlin'," we also went ahead and sang the Star Spangled Banner, the Titanic, the Gibberish Song, the Llama Song, and America.  Our morning Z comprised of finishing up!  Many homesteaders received the deed to their land.  Others were busy landscaping, hanging curtains,  building furniture, and generally putting all the finishing touches in place to get ready for appraisals.  We went for a nice quick swim and headed back to squeeze just five more minutes of touch ups in, then we broke into groups to assess the town!
We practiced on this house, just to make sure everyone understood what we were hoping to accomplish.

The practice also served to help us all be in a similar range, no houses would be assessed in the billions.

dividing up the numbers

finding the median price for each property

After having a nice, judgemental look at each others properties, we gathered in the peep  loft to find the least tragic way to find the average appraisal for each property.  I say least tragic relating mostly to the amount of math involved finding the average of twenty numbers.  The median was definitely the easiest number to find and it turns out, it was fairly accurate!  Those who wished to challenge this method were welcomed to find the mean value and the mean minus the highest and lowest numbers.  We had property values come in anywhere from 7 FF to 20,000 FF!  When the median was found all values ranged from 300 FF to 900 FF.
